SITE SPECIFICITY AND TECHNOLOGY
The new Advanced Research Centre of Campus BioMedico University will be unique in both its focus on site specificity and the use of harmonious materials and its use of advanced technologie.

The new Advanced Biomedicine and Bioengineering Research Centre of the Campus Bio-Medico University will be located in circa 60 hectares of parkland. The building itself will be 5 storeys high whilst its elongated, rectangular shape will be cut diagonally on one of the shorter sides in order to permit an ancient Roman road to pass through the area. Most of the building will be dedicated to laboratories and relative support and service areas, although the two lower floors will also provide teaching facilities, offices, storerooms, archives and car parking facilities. Great care has been taken over the choice of materials and technologies adopted in the building of the new research centre. Indeed, the external walls will be lined with hand sanded bricks, while the adjustable blinds will be automatically controlled. The roofs of the laboratories have been specifically designed to contain all the facilities normally housed in roofing spaces.
